Diastema Closure with Stability

The majority of diastemas can be treated to stability without the need for retention of any kind. Circumferential fibrotomies, frenectomies, and/or permanent retention are used by many individuals, but it is demonstrated that such procedures are most often not necessary. Not only is the approach simple, but it is most satisfying to the patient.

Einstein’s "Gedanken" Experiment” is discussed and offers orthodontists many opportunities to discover solutions to their orthodontic problems not previously recognized.
